Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during a consultation?

The consultation is a brief, 15-minute phone call to share the reasons you are seeking therapy, such as symptoms or life stressors. This will allow me to assess my competency to treat you and your needs. If I am not well-suited, I am more than happy to provide referrals to providers that I endorse or connect you with the resources to find the support you’re looking for.

What can I expect from a therapy session?

The intake interview is where I get to know you and hear your story. This is a time for me to gather information as well as find our groove to make this space the most fruitful and comfortable. From there, therapy sessions can take on any shape or form, with the ultimate goal being healing and growth. This can look like processing emotions, learning coping skills, psychoeducation, or straight up venting - because we all need that from time to time!

What is your style as a therapist?

My style is a blend of gentle yet firm, chill yet structured. I do my best to make therapy feel like you’re talking to someone you know and trust, rather than a stranger holding up a microscope and analyzing your every move. I don’t shy away from humor - I encourage it! Ultimately, I want you to want to come back, which starts with me coming as I am so you feel comfortable coming as you are.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not accept insurance. Upon request, I can provide a superbill which you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. This practice is cash-pay only, however reduced rates are offered on a case-by-case basis, contingent upon availability.
